Abstract
Abstract. The article compares lexical and grammatical modifications of the semantic-syntactic structure of motivational sentences in Ukrainian translations of the New Testament. It is established that the modification of the semantic-syntactic structure of motivational sentences in Ukrainian translations of the New Testament can be traced in different lexical content of the same position of the actualized structural scheme, in the use of different morphological forms, as well as in parallel use of predicative and semi-predicative components. It is observed that by modifying the semantic-syntactic structure of the sentence, the authors of the Ukrainian translations of the Holy Scripture preserve the invariant motivating semantics of the sentence.
The purpose of the research is to identify and analyze lexical and grammatical modifications in Ukrainian translations of the New Testament (on the example of explication of the semantic-syntactic model of motivational sentences).
Results. The analysis shows a fairly high level of expressive power of the Ukrainian language as a form of influence on consciousness, human behavior, because most of the prayers are said by millions of believers every day (who know them by heart), and hundreds of thousands or millions of parishioners are participants in liturgical and other services on Sundays, holidays and other days, Ukrainian confessional texts cannot but influence the language practice of the people, so the problems of the Ukrainian sacred language cannot be only ecclesiastical. A comparative analysis of the linguistic material of Ukrainian texts confirms the hypothesis that the translations of these authors are not identical. The presence of differences is a motivated, natural phenomenon.
