EFFECT OF MAGNETIC FIELD on water absorption
of barley seeds

Increased yield crops without the use of chemicals is an urgent  task. One way to resolve it is to use electrotechnologies.

Now found that under the influence of a magnetic field increases the rate of chemical and biochemical reactions that occur in cells, increases the solubility of salts and acids and membrane permeability, accelerating diffusion through the membrane molecules and ions. This helps to stimulate seed growth and development of plants.

Application of pre-treatment of seeds in the magnetic field leads to the need to establish the mechanism of its effect on the seed and determine the most effective mode of treatment.

 The purpose of research - to establish the influence of magnetic field on water absorption barley seeds.

Under the influence of a magnetic field enhanced diffusion of water molecules, resulting in increased water absorption seeds.

Experimental studies conducted with barley varieties "Solntsedar." Seeds moved on the conveyor through a magnetic field created four pairs of permanent magnets with intermetallis composite NdFeB, installed parallel above and below the belt conveyor with variable polarity.

Magnetic induction governing the change of distance between the magnets within 0-0,5 T and measured teslameters 43205/1. The velocity of the seed through a magnetic field to regulate 0 – 0,8 m/s using frequency converter.

Control and treated in a magnetic field seeds weighed before soaking and after soaking in distilled water for 30 minutes and determined the specific water absorption.

                                       

The influence of magnetic induction and velocity of water absorption in wheat seeds at magnetic treatment were conducted using experimental design theory. The factors taken magnetic induction (X1) and the speed of the seeds (X2), and the initial value - water absorption of wheat.

On the basis of one-factor experiments were mentioned by the upper, lower and main levels of factors that accounted for magnetic induction, respectively, 0; 0,65 and 0,130 T, to the speed of the seeds – 0,4; 0,6 and 0,8 m/s.

Experimentally that when the magnetic induction from 0 to 0,065 T, water seeds of barley growing, and with further increase of magnetic induction begins to decrease. Established that the magnetic induction exceeding 0,130 T, water changes and is slightly barley seed 17 % (in control – 9,8 %).

Established that the maximum water absorption barley seed at 0,065 T magnetic induction. The effect of magnetic treatment depends on the speed of the seeds, but the speed range within 0,4-0,8 m/s, it is a less significant factor than the magnetic induction. The best results were obtained at a speed of 0,4 m/s.

Conclusions

On the basis of the studies found that water absorption barley seed at magnetic treatment depends on the square of the magnetic induction and velocity of seeds in a magnetic field. The most effective mode of treatment occurs when magnetic induction of 0,065 T and the speed of the seeds of 0,4 m/s.
