WIND REGIME CHARACTERISTICS ESTIMATION OF SOUTH OF UKRAINE FOR THE WIND ENERGY NEEDS

M. Kuznietsov, O. Lysenko

Ukraine has one of the largest levels of energy consumption: 2.2% of global energy consumption of less than 1% of world population. One reason is energy intensive outdated technology and equipment that have long worn out and have very low energy efficiency. Occasionally dependence on imported energy causes serious economic and political conflicts that significantly affect the national security of Ukraine, inhibits growth. That is why there is a great need to find alternative ways to reduce this dependence, especially in light of the exhaustion of natural resources.

Analysis and evaluation of wind characteristics is one of the most important steps in identifying promising areas for wind energy development. Analysis of observations of meteorological parameters and assessment of wind regime in Ukraine was dedicated several works of national experts. But the study features wind conditions almost certain regions of Ukraine was conducted primarily in the absence of the necessary data for such studies. Also the data, which operates the meteorological service, not the needs of energy.

For research wind conditions applied biennial array results 10-minute measurements of speed and wind direction received from the shared meteorological towers simultaneously at two heights - 66 and 94 m. To analyze was selected four months: January, April, July, October - as representative for different seasons.

In stochastic estimation parameters actually wind for wind power is an important energy potential of wind flows. The traditional assessment for wind energy potential is the use of cubic depending capacity and the wind speed.

As follows from the data, the estimated capacity of conventional wind turbines on the distribution Veybula slightly less than obtained from actual wind speed, and at a height of 94 m average error is about 4%, and at a height of 66 m - 2%. However, there is that option to form lesser height slightly greater, which indicates less dispersion and more stable due to the wind, but the difference is negligible and can be considered statistically insignificant.

According to the results of the correlation analysis, dependence on the direction of wind speed within a year statistically insignificant, although in some months reaches of weak dependence.

The investigated parameters suitable to evaluate the performance of WPP on the long time horizon. It is necessary to determine the suitability and feasibility of areas where wind energy. However, to assess wind farm interaction with the local electricity grid is also important to know the behavior of the current power, which is the nature of short-term changes in wind speed, the length of individual modes, and more. This requires further research to meet the requirements of the power system in the studied area.

Investigated indicators of wind conditions allow accurately predict long-time work wind power stations in the study region and its impact on the nature of the supply of electricity at work in the central or local grid. This list of parameters studied is not exhaustive, and the need for additional studies determined by the characteristics of the power system as a part of the generation and consumption of electricity.
