ЕSSENCE AND SPECIFIC FEATURES OF FUTURE BIOTECHNOLOGISTS PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
Abstract
Due to rapid changes in all spheres of life, particularly in education, it is an actual problem of training specialists with higher education for various industries. Social importance of qualitative professional training of specialists in biotechnology is increasing in conditions of growing need for practical new technologies designed to eliminate shortages of foodstuffs, energy, mineral resources, improve the health of the environment.
As shown our research, the problem of training specialists in biotechnology is hardly developed in the theory and practice of vocational education. This is due to biotechnology education is relatively new subject. Biotechnology as a science is going through the initial stages of formation. She was formed in a separate training course 0929 "Biotechnology" in 2003.
Considering that biotechnological area is absolutely new and requires highly qualified professionals with a high level of knowledge particular importance is gained to training of specialists in direction "Biotechnology".
To imagine that is a continuous professional training of biotechnologists in high school, consider its characteristics.
Taking into consideration that biotechnologies become an integral part of all areas of life, training of future biotechnologists requires consideration of the specific professional activity, formation of humanistic orientation.
Accordingly we can conclude that higher biotech education has its specific features:
- direction "Biotechnology" tends to develop and increase the number of specialties (increased from 3 to 5);
- use of inter-subject and intra-subject integration to form a system of basic natural science knowledge and skills that provide the ability to apply them in modern technologies, that are developing dynamically;
- emphasis on the accelerated education that is in constant depth analysis of the latest trends and directions of basic biotechnology science and timely adjustment of educational programs and curricula to meet the requirements of time;
- orientation of professional training on humanistic orientation as leading professional quality.
Thus, the system of training future professionals of biotechnological area requires further research and improvement; creating a new methodology of training of future professionals, taking into consideration the integrative nature of scientific achievements discipline; monitoring implementation of preparedness of graduates of professional schools at all stages of training; psychological and pedagogical training of teachers to work in the new environment of the educational process.
