Seven factions of conjugated and free bile acids were identified as a result of chromatographic studies of extracts from native blood of calves that are 30 days old. In contrast to the blood, conjugated bile acids, which were produced through the conjugation with glycine or taurine, dominate in the bile.
According to the results of the study of bile acid composition a significant decrease of the concentration of total fraction of glycochenodeoxycholic+
glycodeoxycholic acids (GCDCA+ GDCA) is observed in the blood of the calves under the traditional therapeutic regimen at the moment of disappearance of clinical symptoms of dyspepsia (5–8th day of life). It may indicate the reduced synthetic and conjugating functions of liver in the calves at the time of recovery. Simultaneous significant decrease of the cholic acid (CA) and lithocholic acid (LCA) content and evident potential decrease of the total fraction of the chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) and deoxycholic acid (DCA) in the blood of the animals indicate functional failure of these organs during the clinical recovery of the calves.
There are no significant changes in the studied parameters in the calves in the same period under the complex therapeutic regimen, although trend for these changes are observed. It proves the positive effect of milk phospholipids in the form of the FLP-MD BAA on the bill acid synthetic function of liver, better elimination of bile acids by the liver and a more intensive recovery process of the functional state of the intestine.
The concentration of bile acids in the blood of calves in the 28-30th day of life in both experimental groups is characterized by the normalization of the values of the studied parameters. However, the LCA content increases significantly by 75% in the blood of calves under the traditional therapeutic regimen compared to the control. The increased level of LCA is observed during the disorders of the symbiotic relationships between different strains of intestinal microflora.
As a result of the study of bile acid spectrum in the bill significant increase of the content of most of bill acids was revealed in the calves under the traditional therapeutic regimen, and it corresponded to significantly high levels of these parameters in the blood plasma of the animals in the 28–30th day of life. Described changes indicate, that recovered calves suffer from the intrahepatic cholestasis even in three weeks after the clinical recovery. Conversely, the additional inclusion of the FLP-MD BAA into the therapeutic regimen caused a choleretic effect.
Thus, the processes of the recovery of the bill acid synthetic function of liver and enterohepatic circulation of bile acids occur more intensively under the complex therapy of calves with the addition of the biologically active additive for reparative therapy, containing phospholipids, into the therapeutic regimen. And it is evidenced by the results of the research of the bile acid spectrum of native blood and bile in these animals.
