Ornamental crop production today is one of the important areas of economic development of the city of Ternopol. Planting plant material is widely used in landscaping populated areas when creating parks, squares, landscaping streets, enterprises and organizations, as well as in landscaping private territories. According to the Concept of Integrated Gardening in Ternopol, developers, together with specialists in gardening, make the most of the decorative features of the planting material grown by regional manufacturers. Based on the analysis of the current legislative and regulatory framework, the main directions of landscaping have been developed, which emphasize the important role of ornamental crop production in the landscape organization and the creation of a conceptual framework for the implementation of local environmental programs in the field of integrated gardening. At the same time, available resource opportunities and growing demand convincingly show that the need for decorative planting material exceeds supply. This imbalance should be addressed in the direction of the revival of national traditions in the cultivation of all commodity items, by developing a system of effective measures to support domestic producers and the development of innovative cultivation technologies, coordinating the activities of domestic decorative gardening with the participation of the state.
