The stages of adaptation of borrowed terms, ways of borrowings penetration and internationalisms in Ukrainian terminology and features of their functioning in the modern Ukrainian dictionary are determined. The problems and prospects of using borrowed economic terms in the Ukrainian language are considered.
The development of the latest globalization processes has determined the priority position of the English language as a communication means between the various peoples of the united Europe and the world, which in turn contributed to the penetration of a large number of British borrowings in different languages of the world, in particular, in the Ukrainian language.
Modern economic terminology is developed, renewed and improved in accordance with the development and improvement of the economic sphere stages. One of the modern Ukrainian terminology strategic problems is to establish the optimal relationship between national and international in terms formation. Therefore, studies devoted to solving the problems associated with the processes of borrowing and mastering the vocabulary of a foreign (especially English-speaking) origin in the Ukrainian economic terminology are extremely important and relevant in the light of the present days.
Words borrowed from other languages make up about 10-15% of the Ukrainian language vocabulary. Turning into our language, they adapt to its regularities phonetically and grammatically. Borrowings reflect the historical state of the language. The communicative adequacy of the internationalism borrowings lies in the fact that the foreign language terms are strong in their isolation from the system of the given language, its noncontact, the absence of possible secondary and additional comprehension.
Borrowing of foreign words is a natural process of any language development. In the field of terminology, the language vocabulary internationalization is particularly noticeable, since science itself is increasingly internationalized, and this process is untiring. The internationalization problem in the last two and a half centuries takes an important place in Ukrainian terminology.
Currently, the process of borrowing English vocabulary is very active and massive. The influence of English vocabulary on modern Ukrainian economic terminology is extremely intense and multifaceted. Borrowing should be considered as an objective and inevitable factor in the language evolution.
In the national terminology borrowings play not only a positive role in the formation of the language vocabulary, because the national terminology internationalization leads to the terminology denationalization, the displacement of national terms and term elements. Therefore, borrowings are appropriate only if they meet the vital needs and are assimilated, without violating the national specifics of the terminology system.
The prospect of further research is seen in the study of borrowing from the English language, since the latter is recognized as the main language of international communication in Ukraine and the language of communication for all mankind
