Abstract

Abstract. The article discusses the problems of reproducing German economic terminology of the copper business by means of the Ukrainian language. A prerequisite for the implementation of adequate translation is the professional competence of the translator, which is based on the integrated system of language training of the translator and background knowledge and skills in the field of international economies of two comparing cultures.

In the course of the pre-translation analysis, it was found that the timing of the composite is characterized by polysemicity and synonymism. At the same time, their accompanying logic-semantic processes of implication, explication, incorporation, diversification and compression of the semantic structure of German economic terms create certain translation difficulties on the way to obtaining a high-quality translatation.

In addition, the article found that in the semantic structures of German terminological units, polysemy and synonymy can be realized synchronously. Therefore, translation decisions are complicated by two factors: the search for a situational counterpart, on the one hand between polysemous, and on the other - between synonymous variants.

Terms-anglicisms and terms − francophones are also characterized by the cumulative semantic structure, the latency of expression of professional content. The translator is required, by combining the actual language and professional skills in the field of international economics, to solve the problem of adequate translation of terminological units with a complex semantic structure.

The study of the semantics of terms to denote the processes of international business complements the idea of their semantic potential and its implementation by participants in intercultural transfer in the field of international economics. Based on the results, the prospects of studying the semantics of terminological units are opened, which can reflect the legal basis of modern international multifaceted business, given the actual semantic attractiveness of terms and determine adequate ways to reproduce them by means of the Ukrainian language.
