Historical-genetic analysis of ideas forming national self-consciousness of students

The problem of finding one's own authenticity is relevant not only for Ukraine, but also for all nations and countries. Preservation of the integrity of the state and its strengthening, the development of civil relations, and the development of civil society belong to the fundamental interests of our state. That is why the question of the formation of the value sphere of the individual, his national and cultural identity, non-national self-determination is vitally important. The basis of national consciousness is national self-consciousness, i.e. self-evaluation by each member of society as a part of his people, his nation, his ethnicity. Its own state, its own nation, is created and nurtured by its people. That is why the primary task of the process of personality education is the formation of national self-awareness as the basis for the formation of state-building youth.The article examines the main stages and factors affecting the formation of national self-awareness among student youth. The theoretical foundations of national self-awareness, its essence and the main factors of its formation are highlighted. A historical analysis of the process of the development of national consciousness in different periods was carried out: the pre-industrial era, industrialization and modernization, modernity. A genetic analysis of national ideas was carried out with an emphasis on the contribution of famous Ukrainian scientists, such as Yaroslav Hrytsak, Myroslav Marynovych, Oleksandr Palii, Oleksandr Zaitsev, Natalia Yakovenko, and Volodymyr Kulyk. The role of educational institutions in the formation of the national consciousness of students is considered. The modern challenges of globalization and the prospects for the development of national self-awareness in the conditions of an open society are revealed and analyzed.References
