Professional identity as a subject of psychological research
Abstract
The article reviews the basic mechanisms of professional identity of the individual. It is noted that the problem underlying the process of professional self-determination, which implies a deliberate act of career choices based on activation of the internal potential of the individual. Discovered professional identity as a semantic condition of professionalism formation that reflects the level of mastery by the human of the psychological structure of professional activity and providing of natural quality of self-realization. The indicators of professional identity defined the professional vision of "I" (image of himself as a specialist), the vision of profession (image of the profession, its contents, tasks, functions, value) and awareness by the subject of the correlation system of functioning of these concepts as a basis for further self-identity in professional activity.
