Current educology on the pages of «native land» magazine

The article is devoted to the analysis of the educational content of the first legal edition of the Dnipro region – «political, economic, literary and scientific magazine» “Native Land” (1905-1916). The place and role of this weekly magazine in the projection on the status rank of the Ukrainian-language periodical of the beginning of the 20th century, in which methodological principle of activity was the reviving Ukrainian-centrism, is characterized. The multi-functionality of the educational narrative form (journalistic reports, scientific studies, analytical reviews, reviews, notes, chronological, event reports, etc.) is distinguished, and its systemic interrelated problem strategies and their specific and general target orientation are established. Such educational phenomena as national education, national school, the national language in its organic connections with the literary language as a codified variant of the commonly used language, the Ukrainian-language mode of teaching, the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature, Ukrainian history as educational subjects, Ukrainian studies departments in universities, the practice of Ukrainian textbook creation, training/retraining of teachers (lecturers), systematicity, continuity, consistency in the activities of primary, secondary and higher schools are comprehensively researched through the prism of that time views, approaches, theoretical justifications, acquired experience. The journalistic-pedagogical, scientific-pedagogical views of the founders of «Native Land» M. Dmitriev, Olena Pchilka, H. Kovalenko, and other bright personalities of that time are interpreted in detail.
