Тoday, the aging of the machine and tractor fleet in livestock breeding is observed, and the problem of the effective use of domestic and foreign equipment is becoming especially acute. Particular attention is paid to the problem of improving the quality and reliability of the
developed domestic machinery and equipment. Requirements for equipment are constantly increasing both in quality and in the range of agricultural work and operations, increasing reliability and productivity. A feature of the functional purpose and operation of mechanization in livestock breeding is to ensure the continuity of biotechnological communication: operator - machine - animal - environment. This is possible only under the condition of constant maintenance of these funds in a healthy state, in which the readiness coefficient of each unit should be at the level of 0.95–0.98. In the theory of reliability, several dozen divisions are known by which it is possible to describe the experimental data of failures. Considering various models of failures, a number of distributions are identified: normal, logarithmically normal, Weibull, gamma, and exponential, which are the basis for constructing models of the durability of non-restored products of livestock equipment, replaced in case of failure by spare ones. The listed distributions cover, respectively, gradual, wear, tired and sudden failures of mechanical systems, complex systems that have passed the running-in period, as well as systems that are operated in difficult conditions under the influence of mechanical and climatic loads.
