EFFECT OF MAGNETIC FIELD on water absorption of cereal seeds

Now found that under the influence of a magnetic field increases the rate of chemical and biochemical reactions that occur in cells, increases the solubility of salts and acids and membrane permeability, accelerating diffusion through the membrane molecules and ions, and water absorption of seeds. This helps to stimulate seed growth and development of plants.

Application of pre-treatment of seeds in a magnetic field causes the need for the mechanism of its effect on the seed and determine the most effective mode of treatment.

 The purpose of research - to establish the influence of magnetic field on water absorption seeds.

Materials and methods of research. When two solutions of different concentrations are separated by a membrane, the concentration equalization can be achieved by diffusion of water molecules. Water molecules move in a solution with higher concentration of the substance because the membrane is impermeable to solute.

Under the influence of a magnetic field enhanced diffusion of water molecules, resulting in increased water absorption seeds.

Experimental studies were conducted on the wheat variety "Natalka". Seeds moved on the conveyor through a magnetic field created by permanent magnets.

Control and treated in a magnetic field seeds weighed before soaking and after soaking in distilled water for 30 minutes. I calculated the specific water absorption.

The influence of magnetic induction and velocity of water absorption in wheat seeds at magnetic treatment were conducted using experimental design theory. The factors taken magnetic induction (X1) and the speed of the seeds (X2), and the output value - water absorption wheat seeds.

Results. Experimentally that when the magnetic induction from 0 to 0,065 T of wheat seed water absorption increases, while further increasing magnetic induction begins to decrease. Established that the magnetic induction exceeding 0,130 T, water changed insignificantly and amounted to 11.5 % of wheat (in control - 8.2 %).

Established that the maximum water absorption of wheat at 0,065 T magnetic induction. The effect of magnetic treatment depends on the speed of the seeds, but the speed range 0.4-0.8 m/s, it is a less significant factor than the magnetic induction. The best results were obtained at a speed of 0.4 m/s.

Conclusions

On the basis of the studies found that the water absorption of wheat at magnetic treatment depends on the square of the magnetic induction and velocity of seeds in a magnetic field. The most effective mode of treatment occurs when magnetic induction of 0,065 T and the speed of the seeds of 0.4 m/s.
