Abstract. The dirofilariasis is a widespread zoonotic disease of carnivorous animals, the pathogens are nematodes belonging to the suborder Filariata, family Onchocercidae, of the genus Dirofilaria.
In the literary sources, especially domestic, unlike treatment and prevention, pathological changes, and especially histological, not described adequately.
The aim of our work was the analysis of diagnostic cases by pathomorphological examination of corpses of dogs. And establishment of microscopic changes in the body of dogs that died of dirofilariasis.
In the work of the authors described the results of pathomorphological studies 6 dogs of different breeds, caused by Dirofilaria immitis. Post-mortem autopsy was performed by the method of partial evisceration. Microscopic studies were carried out according to standard techniques.
When conducting postmortem studies have established that major changes at autopsy in dogs was localized in the heart and lungs and were presented dilatation of the right ventricle, aneurysms, embolism parasite of the pulmonary artery, necrosis, atrophy and granular degeneration of the myocardium and fibrinous-necrotic endocarditis, serous-catarrhal bronchopneumonia. In parenchymal organs were observed necrosis, acute or chronic venous congestion, granular dystrophy of liver and kidneys. Pathomorphological changes in the alimentary canal characterized by chronic catarrhal inflammation.
