The article describes tourism as a factor of socio-economic development, which promotes the strengthening and spread of economic, social and cultural ties. Characteristic features of the emergence of innovations in tourism activity are singled out. The popular and innovative tourism trends are recalled, which at this stage are popular among tourists.
Tourism, to date, is one of the most promising and leading industries in the world economy. Promotion of business in the tourism sector can guarantee a significant contribution to the country's economy in providing new jobs, replenishing the state budget through the payment of taxes and visiting Ukraine by foreign tourists.
The factors influencing the introduction of innovations in tourism are the direct impact of the economic situation in Ukraine, the social situation of the population, national legislation. Let's distinguish the following characteristic signs of innovation in tourism:
- Growth of the needs of the population in acquaintance with the way of life in other regions and gaining new knowledge;
- overestimation of the population by many traditional travel destinations;
- aggravation of competition, growth of proposals of standardized global products;
- the necessity to restrain the departure of their Ukrainian citizens to the zone, similar to the conditions of the regions of their country (nature, culture, climate);
- a harmonious combination of attractive conditions for rest and travel (natural and cultural features, leisure opportunities, the purchase of specific goods and special tourist services) to fully meet the needs of the most demanding tourists;
- technological revolution and expansion of services in the economy;
- the transition from the supply economy to the demand economy.
After conducting research, we can identify the top 5 types of tourism, which in 2018 Ukraine was in the strongest demand. It:
- cultural-cognitive;
- mountain or skiing;
- cycling, water and other kinds of sports tourism;
- ecological;
- gastronomic.
Therefore, for the further development of the tourism industry, it is necessary to create new innovative tourism products (tourism offer) of diverse nature (covering such elements as accommodation, transport, guide services, interpreter, as well as sights, visits to museums, theaters, festivals, artistic salons, vernissages, galleries, etc.), designed for various segments of the tourist market.
Realization of certain innovative directions should stimulate tourist activity in Ukraine, strengthen the interrelation of tourism with other priority areas of social, economic and cultural development of separate regions and the whole country. In turn, it will increase the authority of Ukraine in the world market of tourist services, replenish the state budget and create a powerful tourist base
