Abstract. Forestry waste can become a significant resource for solving the current problem of substitution of natural gas with local fuel in Ukraine. In addition to the impact of improving global ecology, the social importance of this area is linked to promoting local forestry, reducing dependency on imports and sustainable development of the regions.
Subject of research - the thin wood timber, which is currently an illiquid product, and must be destructed. At the same time, the thin wood timber is the most guaranteed resource for the reliable long-term provision of heat supply of both municipal and consumers.
The purpose of the study is to investigate alternative methods of long-term storage of thin wood timber that allows to reach the air-dry state of fuel.
Specifically, alternative storage methods were explored in a separate heap and in a fragment of industrial stacks.
The studied methods of long-term storage can be considered alternative in view of the results of dehydration and may be preferred depending on the types of logging, site features and operating costs for the organization of these logistic operations.
Key words: thin wood timber, twigs, shrub, heap, stack, warehouse
