The article gives a description of the current state of necessity of introduction of energy efficiency at food industry enterprises. The sugar industry is one of the main components of the entire agro-industrial complex
The feature of the energy consumption of the sugar industry are the seasonal work, the stable high energy demand, the round-the-clock work throughout the season, the variety of heat carriers and their parameters, a large number of secondary energy resources, a developed thermal technology scheme, the availability of own CHP.
The analysis of energy efficiency directions of food industry enterprises on the example of sugar factories is carried out. It is noted that the most influential ways of energy efficiency are implementation of modern technological equipment, full utilization of industrial waste and introduction of energy management at enterprises.
