Efficiency of the use of certain complex methods of selection for the assessment of young pigs for fattening and meat qualities
Abstract
Research fattening performance and meat quality of young pigs of different breeds, types and lines of different environmental and genetic origins, the search for effective methods for assessing symptoms of these groups and their use in selection and breeding work is relevant and determine the vector further work.
The results of studies on the fattening performance and meat qualities of young pigs of large white breed different strain. Conducted assessment of specified groups of features based on the use of the complex index of fattening and meat qualities ((Ів) and the index of A. Sazer, H. Fredyn (I). Calculated the level of correlation between the main breeding traits.
Young pigs of large white breed is characterized by high levels of fattening and meat qualities. The highest figure found in animals genealogical line Slavutych.
Effective ways to assess young pigs for fattening and meat qualities is the use of evaluation index (r = -0,895 - +0,837). The selection of highly productive animals for fattening qualities should be provided that a comprehensive index fattening and meat quality varies from 175.36 to 193.06, the index A. Sazera, H.Fredina - from 0.144 to 3.273 points.
Young pigs M + Class, the comprehensive index fattening and meat quality and animal in which the index A.Sazera, H.Fredina is negative and varies from -2.781 to -0.003 points, characterized by higher rates of ' clear quality.
