The article reveals the role and the place of methods of mathematic statistics in holding of social and pedagogical explorations; also it shows the possibility of usage of methods of mathematic statistics for result checking of social and pedagogic experiment.
The focus of socio-pedagogical research is, first of all, in identifying the effectiveness and approbation of the conditions for optimizing the functioning of the socio-pedagogical environment, the national doctrine of education development has actualized the problem of wider introduction in research of technologies that involve the use of methods of mathematical statistics for the processing of information obtained as a result scientific research.
It is the methods of mathematical statistics that take into account the probabilistic nature of socio-pedagogical phenomena and processes, as well as the multifactorial nature of the socio-pedagogical environment, allow us to make the most qualitative conclusions regarding the results of the research.
Recently, mathematical and cybernetic methods are widely used in research psychological and pedagogical and socio-pedagogical direction. Apparently, the most widely used method is the statistical method of processing the results of various measurements.
The development of research activities, as well as the integration of science and education, are among the main activities in the field of education. Socio-pedagogical searches foresee the implementation of priority fundamental and applied researches, as well as the development of actual problems of social work and the widespread introduction of results into practical activities.
Socio-pedagogical phenomena and processes by their nature are very complex, historically predetermined, complex and manifested by various factors - simple and complex, general and partial, necessary and incidental, essential and immaterial, objective and subjective. Therefore, an important problem remains the search and substantiation of methods for obtaining reliable scientific knowledge about social and pedagogical phenomena.
Modern methods of mathematical statistics, designed to maximally accurately and reliably elaborate the results of social studies, provide for the use of both parametric and nonparametric methods, oriented on experimental data. Consequently, the researcher needs knowledge of a number of simplest concepts of mathematical statistics and the ability to work with them.
