Abstract. Modus-dictum structures with subordinate explanatory relations in Latin, which are formed on the basis of supporting verbs in modus part with the meaning of speech, thought, sensation, perception, evaluation, existence, which require compulsory semantic clarification by dictum part, where modus part without dictum would be incomplete neither in formal composition nor in meaning have been analyzed in the article. It has been substantiated that any feature is connected with two types of subjects in MD - structures with subordinate explanatory relations: dictum (feature carrier) and modus (the speaker, the observer; someone who concerns with emotions and feelings, thinks, evaluates), in which explanatory relations are established between modus and dictum parts, the expressions of which are explanatory conjunctions ut, ne (ut ne) and neve. It has been studied that the explanatory dictum part follows after the explanatory member of modus part in the vast majority of MD-structures; only occasionally MD-structure can be formed in such a way that the explanatory dictum part is displaced by a secondary or inserted component at a certain distance from the explanatory word.
