Abstract. Introduction. Mistakes at all levels of the language are a major problem in the presentation of online publications. The culture of written broadcasting of both all-Ukrainian and regional electronic mass media does not correspond to the current linguistic norms, which negatively affects the quality of the text and, consequently, the perception of this type of media. If the printed materials still to some extent deserve a positive assessment of their speech design, then the materials of online publications, of course, require professional editorial intervention, which is obviously caused by the efficiency of preparation and release. In addition, the analysis of the speech culture of the media texts of Ukrainian online publications makes it possible to obtain valuable information about the state of the speech culture of our society, tastes, behavior, and life values of citizens.
The purpose of the article is to scientifically describe spelling mistakes in online publications, identify the most typical of them and point out the main dangerous places at the level of spelling in media texts.
The source base of the study was journalistic texts of online publications of national and regional significance ("Ukrainian Truth", "Doba").
Results. The study of fixed spelling non-normative formations on the pages of the analyzed publications testified to the quantitative advantage of spelling mistakes over spelling norms.
The most common among the mistakes associated with letter spelling is a violation of the phonetic rules of melodious speech. In the analyzed materials revealed abnormal use of prepositions u/v. The most common mistake is to write at the beginning of a sentence before the next word with a consonant sound. No less numerous are the dysfunction of prepositions in / in the middle of the sentence. Journalists often violate the norms of melodiousness of the Ukrainian language in the alternation of prepositions z/iz.
There is a significant group of regulations governing the use of capital letters: in the names of educational institutions, in the official names of associations, in the names of the highest authorities and state institutions of Ukraine, in the names of churches, in the names of sites, in nomenclature names, in names consist of a generic name and a name in quotation marks, in adjectives derived from geographical names.
Cases of misspelling of words corresponding to non-letter spellings are less numerous. Among the mistakes of this group are: units that characterize the spelling of complex nouns and adjectives, units that characterize the spelling of monosyllabic with adverbs combinations of prepositions with nouns that have an adverb in the genitive case and are written separately, units that characterize the writing of adverbs, mistakes in adding letter extensions (case endings) to ordinal numbers written in numbers. of the language of media texts on the formation of the culture of speech of Ukrainians, it is worth emphasizing the need to control the quality of journalistic texts.
Conclusion. To draw the conclusion, one can say that, the study of orthographic non-normative formations testified to the quantitative advantage of spelling mistakes over non-proper spelling norms. The most common among the mistakes associated with letter spellings are violations of the phonetic rules of melodious speech; rules governing the use of capital letters. Given the active influence.
We see the prospect of the study in the analysis of violations of language norms at the lexical and grammatical levels.
