Increasing the efficiency of natural gas use, including in everyday life, could provide an opportunity to reduce gas consumption in the conditions of its shortage in Ukraine.
The pressure drop in distribution, intra-quarter, domestic, workshop and inter-shop gas pipelines is one of the most important factors affecting the economy, reliability and efficiency of the gas supply system as a whole. At the same time, the pressure drop in the gas supply system remains the least regulated and controlled parameter.
The purpose of the research is to analyze the impact of gas pressure on the efficiency of gas use and development of an algorithm for transition to a fundamentally new way of selecting the pressure drop in gas networks.
In the paper, it is proposed to choose the pressure drop in gas networks according to the indicator of the maximum permissible loss of gas combustion efficiency and the reduction of the efficiency of fuel combustion equipment. This makes it possible to reduce gas consumption due to operational factors and new approaches to the design of gas networks.
It is possible to implement the recommendations with a reduction in the size of the existing networks due to the installation of additional fracturing units and reducing their radius of action. If possible, during the reconstruction of gas networks, hydraulic calculations should be made on the basis of recommended pressure drops.
The method can also be used when determining the estimated pressure drop in intra-shop and inter-shop gas pipelines.
Key words: pressure drop in gas networks, efficiency of gas combustion equipment, efficiency of use of combustible gas
