Abstract

The article discusses organic growing of
poultry. Since the use of prophylactic antibiotics is
prohibited in organic production, the issues of disease
prevention are extremely relevant. Attention is paid
to the microclimate parameters, each of which can
be a stress factor for the bird, if it differs from the
boundary values. The purpose of the research was
to investigate the conditions of keeping organic
chickens in various breeding systems. Establish
their features and impact on the safety of chickens.
To compare the parameters of the microclimate,
studies were conducted in two certified organic
farms engaged in the cultivation of poultry. In each
of the premises where chickens were kept, the
sanitary-hygienic indicators of the microclimate
(temperature under the brooder, room temperature,
relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, air velocity,
light) were investigated from the first to the 40th
day of life. According to the research results, it was
established that a large percentage of chickens died
in both farms related to the period of free-range
poultry keeping, in which the parameters of the
microclimate of poultry houses were not normalized,
since this is not possible in conditions of open
access to the environment. It has been established
that the proposed period of the free-running
content is insufficient for the full formation of the
thermoregulation apparatus in chickens. In addition,
attention should be paid to hardening chickens,
gradually reducing the temperature of the air in the
room. Chickens of the first growing period are very
sensitive to stresses of various origins (temperature,
humidity, drafts, etc.), and with unbalanced feeding
they have an unsatisfactory state of immunity. So for
the successful development of the organic poultry
industry, and most importantly, to obtain highquality
and safe products, an integrated approach
to maintaining the health of animals, their feeding
and maintenance, systematic control of sanitary and
hygienic standards is necessary.
