The article considers the issue of competency approach formation as one of the vectors of higher vocational education, which is in the process of science integration and the enhancement of humanization of universities. Modern science and practice set new demands for the degree of classical languages learning in higher and specialized educational establishments, which essentially aim to ensure the enhancement of linguistic competence and add terminological orientation to the whole process of learning.
