The article is devoted to the improvement of methods for determining electromagnetic parameters and characteristics of electromechanical converters for technological purposes. The purpose of the study is to improve the method for determining parameters, rotor currents and electromagnetic torque of an electromechanical hydrolyzer for processing keratin-containing raw materials. A two-module electromagnetic system of an electromechanical hydrolyzer with a common massive ferromagnetic rotor is considered, the average temperature of which can reach 270℃ according to the technological regulations. The method for determining the secondary current in the sections of the massive rotor included in the engine and braking modules and the corresponding electromagnetic torques is improved, which involves the use of an iterative method for calculating the electric field strength on the inner surface of the massive rotor, the basic values of the rotor wave resistances, and modeling to determine the relative wave parameters. The modeling was performed for different values of slip and average rotor temperatures, starting from the cold state and up to the operating temperatures of the hydrolysis process. Universal curves of the dependence of relative wave parameters on the electric field strength on the surface of the ferromagnetic rotor and frequency are obtained, which are modified by the dependence of the specified parameters on the rotor temperature and taken for the range of strong fields, slips for the engine module and 1 for the braking module, respectively. The results obtained in calculations using a mathematical model and experimental data of an industrial sample of a screw electromechanical converter are compared. The ratio of electromagnetic moments created by the electromechanical converter in the cold and hot states, obtained in calculations using a mathematical model and by experiment, are 1.14 and 1.3, respectively. Prospects for further development are research in the direction of using an electromechanical hydrolyzer powered by a semiconductor frequency converter or a triac voltage regulator.
